First Young

Here's a shot from this morning, it wasn't the first young bird I was expecting to see but made for a nice photo anyway.

It's a young Starling, as usual with Starlings I heard a lot of noise coming from the garden and when I checked it out the adult was feeding two young, I just managed to take a few photos when the camera shutter spooked them and they flew off.

The first shot is the young bird followed by the adult, quite a difference..

Photos taken with Nikon D70 + Sigma 170-500mm @ 400mm

Hopefully I will be able to get some young blue, coal or great tits, fingers crossed.

Mike.

  6. Get out of my head! I was just about to come visit you and you beat me to it. :-)

Man, you take the best shots. Not knowing much about birds I wouldn't have known that was a young one until you said so and then showed the difference. That's quite a difference now that I'm looking at it.
