Wild flowers

Here are a couple of the wild flowers which grow around Braunton Burrows, and possibly everywhere else in the UK, I have tried to ID them but, I had some pics that I gave up trying to ID they don't look like anything I can find, probably just weeds :)

Flowers aren't really my thing, but if they look good I'll snap em (in a photo sense that is lol).

The first shot is of a Viper Bugloss and the second shot is a Pyramidal Orchid, I'm sure this is wrong and if I am please let me know.

Finally I went for a quick walk this evening and photographed a new butterfly for my collection, this one is a Gatekeeper another 1st for me.

It's been a while since I have done so many posts and I'm getting back into it and hoping to keep it going, hope you liked the pics.

  3. I really like these photos Mike. I especially like the butterfly. I feel like I could reach out and touch it or it might take off from the screen.

  6. Wonderful flowers! Don't give up on those "weeds"! Some of the prettiest wildflowers are considered weeds by many. If it is a good photo...I'd be happy to see them with or without names! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that is more interested in how it looks than what it is called. I'm terrible about names and IDs. Love the Gatekeeper! This has been a great year for butterflies.

  7. I do admire the butterfly as it looks a lot like our Buckeye butterfly. And "Buckeye" is the state tree of Ohio and it grows a kind of nut called a "Buckeye" you can't eat. Thanks for your visit to my blog. I should like to invite you to take a look at something I am trying out to see if it is possible to get 10,000 visitors in a short period of time. I doubt it but then if you tell all your friends it might be possible. Pick a Peck of Pixels is the name of the blog. http://pickapeckofpixels.blogspot.com/
