Bempton Cliffs - Guillemots

As we walked along the small path which runs along the tops of the cliffs I spotted 3 Guillemots on the edge of the cliff sunning themselves.

They have stunning velvet like feathers all over, such a lovely looking bird and these where quite obliging and where not bothered by people walking past.

These where approx 4-5 meters away, hope you like them.

All photos taken 24/05/2008.

Razorbills and Puffins to follow....

  1. Guillemots are so elegant in their tuxedos.

  2. These are fantastic, Mike! They jump right off the page. I like the little touch of flowers, too, in some of them.

  3. Those are absolutely beautiful birds and the pictures are great! I love where the beak of one shows a shadow on the other. I just left you an award as a blogger who "makes my day". I'm never sure how to do these things, so feel free to pick it up at my blog. Your blog really does make my day!
