A post at last

It feels like a long time since I did my last post, I just haven't been out much lately and today's no different, the following shot where from my garden this afternoon.

There isn't much around here at the moment, but hopefully I will try and get out tomorrow and do a more interesting post.

Not sure what these flowers are called I'm sure someone will let me know, but they look really good at the moment.

I will post my photo of the month for July tomorrow as well.

All photos taken 02/08/2008.

  1. Well - we all have these drags, where nothing's happening. But I wouldn't call what you got nothing!
    Well done!

  2. I wondered what you were up to Mike. I figured you had the summer blahs. It is so hot and humid here I don't want to get outside if I don't have to. I will look forward to your coming posts.

The flower looks like a petunia to me. It is a pretty one too.

  3. ANYTHING you post is interesting, even if you don't think it is! You make a blackbird as attractive as a flower! I vote for that bird with the red berry in its mouth for July photo of the month! I loved that one!

  5. I vote for the name of the flower being a Petunia as well; I even have one that looks like that I think. (will check it out in the morning). Your Crow picture is very handsome.

  6. Hi there Mike,

I agree with Lisa - looks like a petunia to me. Oh... MIke you must be delighted with your male blackbird shot! You always said you had difficulty capturing. Well, I certainly think you have with this photo - and some!!!

Enjoy the rest of you weekend :-D

  7. Hi Shirl, thanks for the comment, I knocked the exposure down to -0.7 which works well with blackbirds and the white parts of bluetits.
