As I haven't been out much lately and I am sat here eagerly awaiting the Siskins return, I thought I would try something different.
This is one of my Gourami's, I have about 30 mixed tropical fish, great to just sit there and watch. If you put your finger to the glass the feelers try and touch it.
Hope you like the shot.
First Siskin was seen here on Sunday 11/01/09 and I haven't seen it since, hopefully it's gone to tell all the others that the foods still here.
Photo taken with Nikon D70 + Nikkor 28-100 + 4 macro.
What a beautiful fish...I love its greenish blue color! I hope you show us some more of your fish. I did get lucky on the waxwings....they were so intent on the crab apples they were almost tame and would let me sit fairly close. I hope your siskins come back!
ReplyDeleteHi there Mike :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot – what a beautiful fish! Funnily enough we were looking at some for my daughter at the weekend. We have all the kit for cold water fish as we have kept some before. We need to get a tank up a running first though :-)
Hope your Siskins return soon. I enjoy seeing them too. We have groups coming in at the moment but the Sparrowhawk has picked one off a feeder already that I’ve seen :-(
I also keep tropicals Mike. This shot turned out great.
ReplyDeleteYou could do a series of photos of your fish Mike. I really like this one. I don't think I have seen one before. Isn't it difficult to shoot through the aquariam walls?
ReplyDeleteHi guys, thanks for your comments, wasn't sure how this would go down, glad you liked it, hopefully if the fish stay still long enough I will post more.
ReplyDeleteVery difficult Lisa plus my glass isn't the cleanest at the moment, but plenty to show off if I can catch them.
Are you kidding? I LOVE the shot! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely shot Mike, very striking colour. We used to have tropical fish, we've got coldwater fish now and I know how tricky it can be getting a clear shot.
ReplyDeletePaul.
WOW, she's so beautiful, amazing color and details...Thomas
ReplyDeleteCheers, I will defo put some more pics on, Mike.
