Another nice surprise.

Wow, not sure where to start with this one, but again I've been blown away.

I have only seen this bird once or twice eating the berries on the climber that surrounds the tree. It seems to appear for a few days around this time of year, but it wasn't here last year so thought I would probably never see it again.

It's a Redwing and stunning if you ask me, similar in size to a song thrush, but has the lovely lines down it's face and the red patch just below the wing.

As you can see it really loves those berries! Hope you like the pics.

Shame about my neighbours fence, but I really liked the photo.

  1. A stunning bird indeed. I just love the photo of the redwing eating the berries. Action shots are the best.

  2. Wow, Mike what a beauty :-D

I particualry love to see bird shots with plant foliage too - eating the berries is a bonus. Very nice, I look forward to seeing many more. I am still trying to get nice shots of our visiting song thrush :-)

Just to say I have just linked to you with an award for your blog :-D
