Evening drive

Now that its only going dark around 8:30 I thought I would get out for a drive.

About 15 mins from where I live is Down holland Moss and Plex Moss, Plex moss has been mentioned quite often recently in bird guides due to sightings of Whimbrel, sadly I didn't see any, but I did get some shots of a Curlew.

The last shot is a Kestrel, which was actually the first bird I came across, and I was very pleased when I got home how it came out, It was far away on a telegraph pole and the photo is heavily cropped.

All photos taken 21/04/2008.

  1. Hi Mike! Even though your Kestrel shot is cropped, it's very nice.
As always, I thoroughly enjoy seeing your shot of birds that I don't get. They're beautiful!!

  3. Very good pictures Mike. I haven't seen a curlew in a long time. We have American Kesterals around here.

  4. I don't know what a Whimbrel is, but I'd certainly settle for a Curlew! Very nice photos of it. I love seeing water birds since I don't live where I see a lot. The kestrel looks great and I would not have known it was a heavily cropped photo or distant.
