1st shot is a Greenfinch, quite common really but still stunning to see, 2nd again is a Dunnock and also really common to gardens and 3rd is a Chaffinch which are pretty much everywhere.
Not so common is a Tree Sparrow shown in the next shot, followed by a Juv Robin which I find to be just stunning.
Finally this was my shot of the day, I have heard these birds many times before, but never been lucky enough to photograph one, its a Reed Warbler.

Great photos Mike. It is always a challenge to get photos of warblers. They are such busy little birds. The juvenile Robin is good too. Heck, I like them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos and a great variety! I don't think I can pick a favorite of the lot! I love all the texture in the juv. robin...can see why you like that one! Great job on getting the warbler. I was frustrated to have missed one today :-( It's always nice to shoot photos of a bird you don't already have. Photographers don't just have "life list" we have "life photo lists" as well! What is that tiny little red spot on the chaffinch right above the leaf?? You get so much detail in your shots that everything stands out. I love the glossy brown (auburn?) of that one!

ReplyDeleteTo capture any animal and specifically birds is quite challenging. Not even thinking about getting the image perfectly sharp.
The bonus, and you capture this beautifully, is to show the catch light in the animals eyes.
Very difficult with small birds but you got it every time!
