Here are a few shots I took whilst on my travels around North Wales, the first couple of images are of a Stonechat, which was taken at South Stack on Anglesey.
I was surprised how close this little chap came to me before flying off again.
Here is the view from the top of the cliffs at South Stack.
The second set of shots are a female Goosander which swam past me with 3 young on Llanberis lake, every time the young took a dive she would stick her head in the water to watch them.

Gorgeous - love the low POV in the bottom pics! Well done, Mike!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
That Stone Chat was a friendly little fellow and quite hansome.
ReplyDeleteThe duck you have pictured we would call a Merganser here. One of my favorite ducks. I have seen them with young so small they crawled upon the mother's back. They are good mommas.
The appearance of the Goosander, with the bad hair day, reminds me somewhat of our female Mergansers.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful mountain landscapes in your previous posting!
All nice photos.
That little Stonechat is really cute! It has a very pretty head and breast. Reminds me a little of a chickadee. I like the Goosander...what an intersting name! I agree with Ann about it having a bad hair day :-) Typical mom has to check on her young even under water :-) Beautiful photos, all!
ReplyDeleteEach of these photos are beautiful. The cliff shot is breathtaking. Hope you had fun on you travels. You got some great shots.
ReplyDeleteStonechats and Goosanders are rare migrant vistors to my patch mike. I would love to get a pic of one though.
