Having watched a week of Autumn Watch I thought it only right to go to Martin Mere to see what's been happening (Martin Mere has hosted Autumn Watch for the past 2 years in case you didn't know).
I can definitely confirm that the Whooper swans have arrived and where landing in numbers whilst I was there, here are a few shots from this afternoon, I have a load I am going through and will post more over the next few days.
I only wish it hadn't been so dull.
All photos taken with Nikon D70 + Sigma 170-500mm.
Hi Mike, challenging photo conditions but once again your images look nice and sharp. So far my favourite is the pair in the last shot.
ReplyDeleteMike-
ReplyDeleteI love the dramatic side/backlight in the first image.
I love that first shot...really wonderful capture! I like the look on its face....sort of zoned out and bored looking. Terrific photos!
ReplyDeleteI do like these shots. It isn't always easy to get a great shot unless conditions are ideal and everything works. It seems to me that you made the best possible shots. I like your work, Mike.
ReplyDeleteReally great inflights! Can't choose the weather - but you did great anyway!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
These are amazing! It's so difficult to capture something in flight. Most times by the time I find it it the lens it's gone. :-) I really appreciate your great work on these.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful experience this must have been to see these huge, beautiful birds!! Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteCracking shots Mike. Very atmospheric. I'm seeing if I can download Autumnwatch anywhere on the web.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, this is a superbe serie of swann...I love the first one...
