Scotland (6) - Red Kite

I am hoping that I have saved the best until last, it certainly is for me as I am a big fan of birds of prey.

After following the Galloway Red Kite trail you come to a farm which says Red Kite feeding area and instantly you see 10+ Kites circling around.

I have never seen a Red Kite before and by the end of the feeding I had seen something in the region of 30, all completely wild, but hang around for the free meat.

    What a beautiful bird! It's like looking at a combination of a Bald Eagle and a hawk. Your pictures are outstanding.

    This are wonderful pictures and of a beautiful bird.

    I hope you get to see Puffins! I'll watch for your photos; they will be spectacular I'm sure. I have never seen them yet but hope to go to the Gaspe region of Quebec later on this summer and hopefully get some photos then.
