Arty night

Thought I would try something a little different for today's post.

The following shots are taken of and around my local Beacon, Ashurst Beacon to be exact, about 10 mins from my house.

From there you can see clearly across to Liverpool, Southport, Blackpool and in the other direction the Peak district, Winter Hill and even across to north Wales.

Here are a few shots I took, trying out the black and white theme, these shot where taken with a 28-100mm Nikkor lens.

And couple of macro shots using the same lens, but with a +4 adaptor attached.

Something a little different, but I have to say I really enjoyed it, you may see some more buildings who knows.

All shots taken 17/08/2008 with Nikon D70.

  2. Wow, the beacon shots are very beautiful, the first two being filled with drama and even suspense. The third completely changes with the light and clour. But I am totally taken with the detail and colouring of the grasshopper. It is so of the earth in a primitive sense. This is is a wonderful photo!

  8. Great Photo - Please stop by and check out my blog. Iowa Nature Photos will now be a photo blog with no caption or commentary. I do not have the time to dedicate to my blog that I have in the past but would still like to post photos. I hope that you will continue to support my blog in the future.

  9. Hi Mike, a great set of shots. The thing that really impresses me about your photos is that they are pin sharp and good composition, really pleasing to the eye.

  10. Very Artsy of you Mike. I like the building. I like to see pictures of great architecture. I also like to see those thatch-covered cottages that England is so famous for.

Grasshoppers look the same all over the world don't they??
