10 mins in the garden

I had a quick 10 mins in the garden this morning whilst the sun was out, I am starting to think the sun is somehow connected to my camera, no sooner have I picked it up the sun goes in :)

Anyhow I made the most of about 10 mins of sun and managed to photograph a couple of birds.

The first two pics are a juvenile Great Tit and the final pic is a Robin, hope you like them.

I have a load of work to do this weekend so it's unlikely I will get out and about, but who knows if I get it finished I'll be out.

Garden visits

I have had a few young visitors to the garden lately mainly Goldfinches.

Blue tits and Great tits have also been around but haven't come to the feeders until its too dark to get any shots of them.

We usually get Coaltits too, but so far I haven't seen any.

Here's a shot I got yesterday of a juvenile Goldfinch, we had two on and around the feeders along with two adult birds.

Here's a Great tit which also caught my eye and perched for a few seconds before disappearing into the trees again.

Fingers crossed I will get the Bluetits before they lose the yellow cuteness.

Great Tit

Just thought I would add a quick post as I haven't really had chance to do much lately, its that time of year when other things have to come first, mainly shopping.

Dull garden

Well so far today the gardens been pretty dull, one minute the suns out then a down pour straight after and overcast.

The first shot was taken this morning and couldn't catch this little fella (Blue Tit) looking at the camera or in my direction, so this was the best of the bunch I'm afraid.

The second shot is a Great tit, I don't have many shot of these birds as they are so fast on and off my feeders, hope you like them.

Mere Sands morning

Took a drive this morning to Mere Sands Wood, making the most of the nice weather after being stuck in all week.

The first shot is a Canada goose you can just make out its young behind him, I think there was 4 babies.


2nd shot is a Jay, sadly it was just a little too far away to get the detail of the bird I would have liked.3rd shot is a Nuthatch who was catching 40 winks in the heat and the 4th shot is a Great Tit.


Finally I will have to leave the ID to the experts, but I just liked the way it looked, I didn't have my macro lens with me so I took this at 500mm and I'm quite pleased with it.

In my Garden

Just a few shots from this afternoon in my garden, I was surprised to see the Sparrow with it not being around for a few week, but always nice to see.

The shots are 1. House Sparrow, 2 & 3. Great Tit, 4. Blackbird.

I'm off to Scotland is a few weeks so hopefully I can post something different, hope you like them.

Last Years Young

Spring will soon be here, so I thought I would show some of the young from last year to get us all ready.

Hopefully we will have more of the same this year and many more.

Daily visitors

Actually had some good weather for a change, the sun was out all morning and well into the afternoon, late afternoon isn't great for photographing birds in my garden as the sun shines straight through the trees and all you get is a silhouette.

The birds that usually visit my garden have been out in force today, here is a list of what we had: Goldfinch(12), Greenfinch(3), Coaltit(3), Starlings(8), Great Tit(4), Bluetit(6), Collared Dove(3), GS Woodpecker(1), Robin(1), Dunnock(1), Blackbird(2), Chaffinch(2) and a couple of Grey Squirrels.

And they where all pretty much coming and going at the same time, I wish I had filmed them like Shirl does, but not sure I would do them the same justice.
